Jordan celebrated her 14th birthday party in style at the W Los Angeles, surrounded by friends and family. You can see her in this shot enjoying the pool with her Uncle Ricky and Aunt Lisa.

Last year, she had to make do with an impromptu birthday celebration surrounded by generous and loving friends at Children’s Hospital. Today, she enjoys a cabana at The W Los Angeles. What a difference a year makes.

Supreme

While rifling through a bin of old CDs in the garage, I came across my copies of the 25th anniversary collection of Diana Ross and The Supremes. The first thing that came to mind: this is an excellent set for Jordan. She loves music and I’m constantly selecting new tunes for her. Both she and her brother have a voracious appetite for music. So, I considered myself quite proud of my discovery.

The Update

We received news from the radiologist. Jordan’s scans are stable. There does not appear to be any new growth. We’re waiting on results of another test, but Jordan hasn’t waited to call people and express her relief. We’ll know our next steps in treatment in a couple of weeks.

An Old Routine

I’ll open with a couple of apologies. First, I apologize because I haven’t written in awhile. I could say that we’ve been very busy, or that no news is good news. Those statements are both true, but there’s another reason why I haven’t posted to Jordan’s Journey for awhile. I started writing this blog nine years ago when Jordan was diagnosed with cancer. At the time, it served a functional purpose.
