Bewildered

She is so tall. The casts give her a half an inch, but still. When I watched her hobble around the kitchen tonight I was kind of dumbfounded. Where is my little girl? She is a young woman in the making–so mature, so lively, so lovely. I kind of lost my breath gazing on her as she parried with her mom and willed her way around the cupboards. We had a family dinner tonight at one of my favorite restaurants.

Purple Casts

Purple Casts The good news–the fantastic, delightful, unsurprisingly intoxicating news–is that Jordan is healing well. Her doctor was very pleased with her progress. The X-Rays looked good, the stitches are out, and she’s in blazingly purple casts. And … she can walk around now. It was a very good day, except, as is often the case with Jordan, it was a day full of its own challenges. First, Jeanette sent me pictures of Jordan’s feet.

Counting Days

Jordan’s doing very well. Pain is seldom an issue anymore. She gets itchy, but she finds solace in Benadryl. She’s very excited about Monday, when she goes in to have the first casts removed and the walking casts put on. As usual, we’re all blown away by how she has handled the inconvenience of immobility. Wednesday, she has another MRI, and our fingers are crossed that cancer is even further back in the rearview mirror.

Dreams of Fashion Design

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQV8lktxCTo] Jordan had a lot of fun with our good friend, Roger Holzberg. He helped her compile and edit her own video about her love of fashion design. She was focused today, and she had so much fun catching up with a kindred spirit. Later in the day, when we had lunch together as a family, she talked about what she’d learned and how she wants to make more movies in the future.
